On August 25th, after several months of political turmoil, 30,000 protesters, led by the People's Alliance for Democracy, occupied Samak Sundaravej's Government House compound in central Bangkok, forcing him and his advisers to work out of a military command post. They asked Samak to resign as Prime Minister, as they accused him to be corrupted and his Govern to be a simple puppet in the hand of former PM Thaksin Shinawatra, now in esile in UK.
